As anticipation sparks amid the possibility at the first spot Bitcoin exchange traded fund (ETF) obtaining approval, a recent survey has shown that this will expose Bitcoin to more than $30 trillion in value over the next decade. The 10th annual ETF survey featuring responses from over 300+ ETF institutional investors, fund managers and financial advisors located in the U.S., Europe region, and China has been conducted by Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH). The aim was to identify major trends and areas of innovation in the EFT market. Despite the challenges the cryptocurrency industry faced in previous year, one fourth of all respondents anticipate to increase their investment portfolio on ETFs with cryptocurrency-related exposure this year compared to 33% in the previous year.
According to the survey, initiatives similar to the draught regulation from the EU’s markets in Cryptocurrency assets proposal are expected to significantly ‘derisk’ investment in crypto assets for asset manager and also provides an additional layer of comfort for them to be involved with crypto exchange. BBH mentioned that ETFs are a &9.2 trillion market that experienced inflows of $856 billion globally in the previous year. It is also anticipated that the ETF market could be valued at $30 trillion in a decade given improvised investor education and ongoing product innovation.
